Very Rare 1715 Fleet Silver Eight Reale Coin Triple Dated 1698

This treasure coin was minted in 1698 at the Potosi Mint during the reign of Carlos II of Spain. It is a pillars and waves variety cob. There is a tic-tac-toe design on the obverse. At the top left and lower right is the P mintmark. At the top right and lower left there is the assayer's mark. In the middle top there is the denomination 8. across the middle of the coin is the legend "Plus Ultra". At the bottom center is the date 98 (1698) In the lower left quadrant the 98 is repeated again and is easily visible. On the reverse is the Crusader's Cross with lions and castles. At the top of the cross is the denomination 8. To the left is the mintmark. To the right is the assayer's mark. At the bottom is the date 98 (1698) repeated again. Of course because of the amount of seawear on the coin, you can't see a lot of the detail. However what you can see is all three dates. This is very rare. Potosi Mint coins are also scarce from the fleet. This one came from an original investor on the wreck, which was sunk by a hurricane on the east coast of Florida July 31, 1715, with nearly 1000 lives and millions in treasure lost. Don't miss the opportunity to own this rare but esthetically challenged Spanish Treasure coin. It is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, and is guaranteed genuine.
